About Us ... why we care

MaxPTS LLC

The continuing significant escalation in the cost of energy and focus on global warming has significantly increased the demand for energy savings worldwide. The public is increasingly aware of the need for “green” products that enhance our environment and promote energy consciousness. We believe this to be the opportune time to launch new products and technologies focused on energy savings and efficiencies.

We are mindful that new technologies have always changed the world. To revolutionize energy consumption we must be open to new aka disruptive technologies i.e., something that has never existed before but if it did would change the world. Our ability to understand energy markets and recognize the needs of energy consumers is key to introducing the right products to our clients at the right time.

We are always looking for those who share our values, understand the opportunity, and are capable and willing to do the necessary work.

Origin

Maximum Power Transfer Solution™

HOW DID IT HAPPEN?

Like many great inventions, it happened by accident! Engineers were working on saving energy. The client was DuPont, striving to reduce energy costs by 2% per year. A blown fluorescent lamp started it all. With the ballast removed, 2 single wires hung from the ceiling. On a whim, an engineer connected his designed circuit. The small printed circuit board (PCB) with programmed 4Mb microchip instantly and brightly lit the fluorescent. What stunned the engineers was that it only took 48 watts instead of 100 watts to do so.

What had happened?

For the first time, Jacobi's Law (1840) Maximum Power Transfer Theorem (impedance matching) was solved. 5-years R&D later, in 2006, one ballast only, instead of multiple sizes, served all the fluorescent lamp sizes. Tested, approved and reported by Phillips, the one-size ballast was globally approved for prescriptive rebates. Between 2006 and 2008, the attention shifted to scalable lighting per sub-panel ranging from 20 to 100 amps. These were duly tested & certified (2008) by Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), India's power authority.

Inevitably, between 2008 and 2013, focus shifted to mechanical loads e.g. HVAC, production up to 225 amps. The 1st USA unit was installed in 2011. Post 5-years of field testing, all 8 x models were ready for certification. UL requested 16 units (2 x each) and awarded now MPTS™ the "UL Mark" March 2013 post 9-months testing. UL then bought one MPTS™ to wheel it around to different test-sites for vendor equipment certification testing. Vendor equipment is tested under severe electrical conditions controlled by MPTS™, failure free since install. The UL Certification and US Patent Office classify MPTS™ as Power Management, not as Power Reporting.
